         Freaky Friday is an American fantasy-comedy film directed by Mark Waters. It tells the story of a single mother Tess Coleman (Jamie Curtis) and her teenage daughter Anna Coleman (Lindsay Lohan) who can’t handle their differences which drives them both insane.

They receive a fortune cookie at a Chinese restaurant, and when they wake up the next day they discover that their bodies had been switched. They can’t switch their bodies back and forced to pretend as if Tess is Anna and Anna is Tess, until they found the solution. The solution made them both understand and respect one another.

As a fantasy-comedy film, one would expect the supernatural effect in the film, most likely in the scene where Anna and Tess switched souls. However, the cameras explained it all. The cameras do the “switching” thing in the movie that made us, the viewers, to understand that the two are switching.

Jamie Curtis did it well in acting as a teenager in the movie. She did not overdo the acting as a teenager. She did it perfectly in the scene where she had to rock on the audition concert.

The opening music “Happy Together” will make you excited to watch the movie. It is entertaining. And it really matched to the said film since it is the story about the mother and daughter. And when the “switching” begins, the strange music fits at the scene. It makes the scene more exciting.

This is a great movie for family. It was funny and heart touching movie. This will give you an unforgettable lesson in your life that you should respect and understand the people around you. All in all, 4 out of 5 stars. This movie is worth recommended to all.

Crave Park: Worth the Crave!!!

Crave Park is one of the famous food park which landed in Marikina last October 8, 2016. It is located in Sto.Niño, Marikina City. This food park has many different stalls wherein food stalls offering Asian and Western dishes are there to choose from. You can see stalls that sells tempura, chicken, sushi, ramen, and pizza. Since Crave Park is one of the famous food parks in Marikina, we can see some good reviews about it.

 No matter what positive impressions people said in this food park, there are still negative things we can see in this place. However, the price of the foods depending on the stalls were quite affordable. The ambiance and the murals in the said food park was the one that caught my attention after all, and maybe that could be the reason why people go there.

When I entered at the food park, I walked around the place and noticed that some of the food in the stall were pricey. And the one that caught my attention was the Korean stall named “Seoul Kimbap”.

Since I’m craving for a Korean food that time, I bought their best seller, “bibimbap”.

  One thing that I also noticed in the stall “Seoul Kimbap” was that their crews were not even wearing apron and hairnet. However, they used plastic gloves in preparing the food.

The place was worthy of admiration because of the ventilation, the good music, and the lights were appropriate to the ambiance of the place. However, it’s somehow dark in the place.  The atmosphere was comfortable and perfect for “barkadas” to hang out. It’s a place where you can relax and enjoy every moment with your friends.

When we went upstairs, I noticed that some of the crews in the Crave Park were smoking just behind our table. And it’s annoying because as a crew, you must not smoke beside your customers even though it is an open area. However, they’re friendly and very accommodating to people.

If there are things that the management should work on, it will be the lighting and the crews. The place was somehow dark especially on the second floor. Most customers don’t want to be accommodated in a dark place especially when it comes to a place to eat. The management should work on this, they should add more lights on the upper level of the food park for the place to become more presentable to the people. And the crews should not smoke anywhere especially near the customers for they might somehow feel annoyed. The crews can smoke but make sure it is far from the customers. The management should also work on building a smoking area for the smokers whether they are crews or guests. This thing will help them as well as the customers for protecting their health.

This place is good for the people who wish to go to an Asian and Western Restaurant. The food they serve here is definitely good! If you’re an instragammable person, I’ll surely recommend you to go here because the food is well presented. All in all, I would like to give four out of five stars. If you wish to visit a place that will give you satisfaction about your cravings, this place is good for you.

PLANNED BURIAL OF FERDINAND MARCOS

                The burial of our late President Ferdinand Marcos at the Heroes’ Cemetery has been a controversial issue here in the Philippines because it was hidden to the public. Do you find the decision reasonable?

                If I were to answer the question, I will say no. Why? Simply because the Filipino people deserve to know what’s happening in the country. Because we are living in a democratic country, it is the right of the Filipinos to know it. Although we all know that the Supreme Court had decided that the late Marcos be buried at the Heroes’ Cemetery in unspecified date, the people were shocked because the burial took place last November 18, 2016.

Some of the victims of Human Rights violation during the Martial Law Era and the participants of the People Power Revolution have opposed to bury Marcos at the Heroes’ Cemetery because of his authoritarian rule. Former President Joseph Estrada once attempted to bury Marcos at the Heroes’ Cemetery on July 1998 but later he cancelled the burial because late President Cory Aquino opposed to it. President Rodrigo Duterte later asserted his plans for the burial of Ferdinand Marcos. He’s always insisting that the burial will be an instrument for the beginning of “nationwide healing” but the plan met criticism. The burial of our late President Marcos was conducted in a private ceremony that resulted a nationwide protest. Until now, anti-Marcos were still protesting about his burial.

We all know that Marcos has done a lot for our country, but we can’t blame those people if they are always opposing the burial and kept on protesting because they had bad experiences during the Martial Law Era.

As one of the Filipino citizen who’s concern about my fellowmen, I understand what they feel. Their right was violated. It is not acceptable that they hide the burial to the public. But we have to accept what had happened. We have to accept the fact that Marcos has already been buried. 

Together Since 2011

Being with someone you love for so many years is one of the greatest thing we can experience in our life. Being with a friend with your side is one of the happiest thing in our life. We all know that most of the people here in this world want to have a friend or a bestfriend. We all want yo have someone that we can lean on specially when we're down. We want someone to hear us out. For short, we want someone to be with us always. I have here my story about my 7 years bestfriend. 

I have a bestfriend since elementary. We've been together for about 7 years. And still counting... We've been "jejemon" together before. We've been talking and sharing our moments together. We are like sisters. We eat together sometimes. We're having sleepover to their house sometimes. We're dating everytime we have free time together. Everytime we're having a friendly date, we seize the moment. We talk  everyday. We're sharing photos to each other. We also share our things. We're very close to each other. Even though there are so many trials, we still survive. Every trials that we get through, we're getting stronger. Challenges makes us stronger. It makes our friendship stronger. There are a lot of reason's to leave and hate her but I do still love here. Maybe the Lord destined us together. I don't know what my life will be if God don't give me the girl who changed my life. The girl who accept me. The girl who's my better half. She's a blessing to me. I'm so happy that she came. I'm so blessed that I have a bestfriend that's caring, loving, beautiful, and God's princess. 

We just need to give importance to the people we love. We have to appreciate them. We have to love them. We need to give time for them. We have to love them. When you finally found the person that'll accept and love you, don't leave her/him. Make her/him feel important. Love her/him the way he/she loves you. Thank God because you have him/her.

Puberty Hits Me So Hard!!!

   Have you ever been bullied? Being called ugly and untidy at the same time? Have you ever experienced being alone,where there is no one to hear you out or you can lean on when you're down? And the only thing you have is your family and God.

    Me, I've already experienced being bullied because of my looks. Before, I don't even know how to take care of myself. You can't blame me, I was only grade 6. Back then, I only wanted to study and enjoy my life. But sad to say, I was not happy. I have no one with me. I don't have friends. They just come when they need something from me, but once they already got what they wanted, I will be forgotten. I've always been lonesome back then. I was unhappy, and I was used. Because of my looks, people around me were so mean. They're always making fun of me. They kept on telling me that I was so ugly... So untidy. I used to think that I'm the worst person in this world. But what I did was I ignored them nd chose to be silent. We all know that there is no one here in this world who wanted to be called ugly, right? Because we always want to hear good comments from others. But we're living in the world full of judgemental people who talks good and bad things about us. Instead of taking bad comments as negative, we should take it as a motivation to be better. And that's what I did. I motivated myself to be better. Because of that, I learned how to take care of myself. I realized that I needed to have a proper grooming. I changed everything in my life. It continues as the day passes. I can say that I'm better now. It's weird to say but the people who bullied me made me who I am today. They're the ones who pushed me to be here. They're the reason why I'm here standing in front of you saying that "puberty hits me so hard". And I'm also proud to say that I'm beautiful.
 
    Always remember that people around you can make or break you. But only you have the power to change your world. You just need to believe in yourself, and not to give up easily. Always keep in mind that you're beautiful no matter what anybody says. Be proud of yourself and have the confidence to say that "I'm beautiful".

BARCELONA: A LOVE UNTOLD 2016 (MOVIE REVIEW)

It's a material for the KathNiel to show their maturity as they portray their roles as Mia and Ely in this movie directed by Olivia Lamasan. It's her 13th film, and her 4th film being shot outside the country.

This film is about the story of Ely (Daniel Padilla) and Mia (Kathryn Bernardo), they're two lost souls in the foreign country. Ely, who recently lost his girlfriend, travels to Barcelona to to finish his studies and does jobs to support his family in the Philippines while Mia, the girl who escaped her issues in the family in the Philippines to make her dad proud by doing different jobs in Barcelona. Mia and Ely become comfortable to each other. When Mia lost her job and doesn't have anywhere to live meets the heartbroken Ely who lost the love of his life Celine. First, Ely thought that Mia is Celine because they're quite look a like. And their story begins as they bond for days and weeks. 

Daniel Padilla is impressive in this movie, he is quite matured in here while Kathryn Bernardo plays her role well. She's cute and serious at the same time. So it's obvious in the Star Cinema that they'll make movies that the conflicts are mostly about issues in the family. So it'll fall into drama, and then the love between the two can now happen.

The movie is not just about the romance of Mia and Ely, it's also about drama and issues with the family. The beauty of the place where they shoot can be seen but can't be felt in this film. Most of the characters' problems are about how selfish they are.

The dialogues? There were all nice. I love all the dialouges. Especially the "hugot lines" in the movie. There are a lot of "hugot lines" in this movie. I enjoy it more because of the dialouge. And how the actors/actresses deliver their own lines.

Barcelona: A Love Untold is a pretty film. The actors and actresses were good. Kathryn Bernardo delivers her line well. She's good. I like her facial expressions. Daniel Padilla is good too. He can deliver his role. They're matured in this movie. I love it. The movie was nice.
